I purchased an HSS loaded pickguard with the gen2 - 7 way switch for my strat. Sounds amazing!! I was immediately very impressed with the quality and sound of the PUPs. Installation could not have been any easier unless someone else did it. No soldering or wiring tangles... just some screws and a couple of press connectors. I am pleased!!
This was my first attempt at a major guitar upgrade and wouldn't have tried it without this solderless kit. The wiring kit install was about 10 minutes once you have the harness positions and pick up wiring diagrams which are on the website.
My project was a 1998 Peavey Raptor Plus which was OK then, but needs some love now.
Aside from the wiring kit, Gotoh 38 tuners, Obsidian HSS overwound pick ups and a solderless jack kit.
The changes were immediate and noticeable. More sustain, punch, clarity, less hum & with the 7 way switch, you cant miss. If I ever mod another guitar, Obsidian will be my first choice.
Installation was wonderfully pain-free!

I was skeptical as to whether or not this would make a difference. As it turns out, my worries were completely unfounded. This was an amazing upgrade for my 2006 Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Fretless.
The installation was very easy, the hardest part was putting the wires into the harness itself, but that was likely more related to my age and terrible eyesight than anything else.
The full-size CTS pots were a superb upgrade and the harness has reduced the noise my Jazzer produces.
I did have to get a USA-sized control plate and knobs, but I knew that going into this.
I will be buying another one for my Squier CV Precision, I like it that much!
If you are "on the fence" here, go ahead and buy the harness. If you have a Squier Jazz bass, save yourself some trouble and buy the entire package.
